Sudharma Group
– a paradigm of innovation and wisdom
The current form of Sudharma hasn’t been created suddenly; rather, it has evolved organically through several stages and originated from the vision of an ordinary individual – the founder. In the early 1990s, a young boy, who was a first-generation entrepreneur, took a leap into the agricultural business, pursuing his passion with a small trading venture after finishing his university studies in science and business management.
Growing up in the rural areas of Bengal, he was greatly drawn to agriculture. During his early young age, he learned the basics of agricultural practices directly from local farmers. His enthusiasm for agriculture inspired him to build a career in agribusiness, motivated by a wish to create employment opportunities and have a beneficial influence on the community.
Founder Director, CXO
Following that, in the mid-1990s, he began assisting farmers by coordinating with specialists from various research and academic institutions across the country. This initiative received tremendous support from farm entrepreneurs in several eastern regional states of India. He introduced new crops, species, and technologies, which benefited many agribusiness as well as farm entrepreneurs during that time.
Additionally, he researched and studied cropping, agricultural economics, statistics, the advantages and disadvantages of technological research, extension services, and market ecosystem to identify issues within the Indian agricultural framework, maintaining close connections with ICAR ecosystems and other agencies and experts domestically and internationally for decades. Numerous research papers he authored have been published in international journals and have been chosen for oral presentations at global symposiums, including science congress.
Later in 2011, a corporate entity was established under the name Sudharma Krishi Consultants Pvt. Limited, which is registered with the Ministry of Corporate Affairs of the Government of India, and all prior initiatives were transitioned to this new company. Following the formation of this new entity, he structured his previous consultancy work in a more innovative and results-oriented manner, branding this segment as agriCon.
